About Us
Mablethorpe & District Motor Club was formed in 1957 to serve the interest of motor spoprts enthusiasts in the Mablethorpe & Sutton-On-Sea area. Since then, the membership has spread widely and now serves a wide area of Lincolnshire. The Club meets on the last Friday of every month at the George Inn, Alford. LN13 9DS (GR 122/445760½)when a wide variety of social activities is on offer. The programme of events covers Noggin `n Natters, quizzes and table-top rallies amongst others. The Club holds an Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation in April when a variety of nationally known speakers have attended in the past. A Club barbecue is held in the summer months.
For competition, the club organises 12 Car Rallies for the Clubman level and a National B Stage event which features in two Regional Championships. In addition to these a Classic Car Touring Assembly are also run. There is plenty for everyone to enjoy.
In the marshalling field, Mablethorpe members are prominent in assisting other clubs to run their events during the year acting as radio communications or marshals in the forests are on single -venue events. There is a scheme of accreditation for marshals run by the Regional Association leading to a qualification which is nationally recognised.
New members are always welcome whatever their expertise or interest so why not pop along on the last Friday of a month or give one of the contacts a ring.
