Visitors to Dundee this summer will have the chance to discover just how accessible motorsport can be as the Scotland StreetCar Festival arrives at John Clark Motor Group from 31 July to 2 August.
Taking place alongside the FIA EcoRally Scotland, the festival forms part of a weekend celebrating sustainable and grassroots motorsport, giving local communities the opportunity to get closer to the sport than ever before.
Whether you’ve never considered motorsport before or are simply curious about getting involved, the Scotland StreetCar Festival offers a welcoming introduction to StreetCar – Motorsport UK’s entry-level programme that makes it easy to enjoy motorsport in an everyday road car.
Across the weekend, visitors will be able to experience the excitement first-hand with AutoSOLO passenger rides delivered by local volunteer-run motor clubs, while learning more about the wide range of affordable and accessible opportunities available across Scotland.
The festival is designed to show that motorsport isn’t just for elite competitors. With friendly local clubs, low-cost entry points and events taking place across the country, there’s a discipline for almost everyone to enjoy.
Claire Kirkpatrick, Motorsport UK Director of Club and Volunteer Development, said: “StreetCar is all about showing people that motorsport is closer than they think. You don’t need a purpose-built car or years of experience to get started, just a willingness to have a go. The Scotland StreetCar Festival is a fantastic opportunity for people to experience the fun of grassroots motorsport, meet their local clubs and see how easy it can be to get involved.”
Visitors can find out more about StreetCar, speak to local clubs and learn how to take their first steps into motorsport throughout the weekend.
