The incredible 2026 Motorsport UK Nova Motorsport British Hillclimb Championship reaches its dramatic, title-deciding finale this weekend at Prescott, with three drivers in Gould GR59s separated by just two points and everything to play for.
After 24 of 26 fiercely fought rounds, defending champion Matthew Ryder holds a wafer-thin two-point advantage over his challengers William Hall and Wallace Menzies, setting up a thrilling three-way battle for championship glory in Sunday’s final pair of Run Offs.
The title permutations are intriguingly simple in one respect: if any of the three drivers wins both Run Offs, the championship is theirs. Should the victories be shared, however, the mathematics becomes considerably more complicated, with dropped scores also coming into play.
Adding another potential twist to the finale, a bonus point is available to any driver who breaks the Prescott hill record – meaning even the venue’s benchmark time could have a crucial bearing on the destination of the 2026 title.
The intensity of the showdown is underlined by what happened when the championship last visited Prescott in April. The ever-popular Tin Top Run Off will see many of the sport’s fastest and most exciting saloons, hatchbacks and sports cars take to the hill, ranging from highly modified road-based machines to purpose-built hillclimb specials.
The entertainment extends beyond the track, too. Saturday evening will feature live music from AE Official Duo, while a Battle of Britain Memorial Flypast on Saturday will provide a special highlight to the weekend.
Visitors can also explore the trade village and soak up the unique atmosphere of Prescott as the 2026 British Hillclimb Championship reaches its spectacular conclusion.
