Motorsport UK is delighted to announce Jack Lane as the overall winner of our ‘There’s a Motorsport for Everyone’ amateur photography competition, celebrating the people, passion and community that make our sport so special.
Launched as part of Motorsport UK’s ‘There’s a Motorsport for Everyone’ campaign, the competition invited amateur photographers from across the UK to capture the moments that showcase the heart of motorsport – from dedicated volunteers and inspiring competitors to the friendships and families found in paddocks across the country.
Jack’s winning image captured Will Hall returning to the paddock at Shelsley Walsh after setting a new hill record, with judges praising the photograph as a perfect representation of the spirit, camaraderie and community that exists throughout the UK motorsport scene. The image was also named winner of the Community category.
Jack enjoyed further success in the competition, also taking the Heroes category with another photograph from Shelsley Walsh. The touching image captures a wife offering her husband a few final words of encouragement before he heads to the start line, highlighting the love, support and sacrifice that motorsport families make behind the scenes.
Jack said, “I’m blown away and glad that the judges found the image as special as I did. It was a pleasure to be part of that history making moment at such an iconic venue.”
The Volunteers category was won by Steve Tarrant for his striking photograph celebrating the marshals at Goodwood, recognising the dedicated volunteers whose commitment makes motorsport possible.
In total, more than 80 entries were received from photographers across the country, showcasing the incredible breadth of British motorsport and the people who give the sport its unique character.
As overall winner, Jack receives two tickets to the Goodwood Revival. His photographs, alongside the full shortlisted collection, will be displayed at Motorsport UK headquarters in the coming months before being showcased at the October Bicester Scramble event.
