Changes to the Road Rally technical regulations will come into effect on 1st January 2027, covering engines, transmissions, wheels and tyres, lighting and Roll Over Protection Systems. These changes are detailed in Chapter 22 – Future Regulation Changes of the Motorsport UK National Competition Rules (NCR).

To help everyone prepare, the Motorsport UK Rallies Team has published a dedicated Road Rally 2027 Technical Regulation Changes guide, developed with input from the Road Rally Working Group and presented to the Rallies Committee.

The guide explains the changes, the background behind them and what they mean for Road Rally events.

If you’re involved in Road Rally Scrutineering, we encourage you to take some time to read through the guidance ahead of the 2027 season. If you have any questions about the changes, please contact the Motorsport UK Rallies Team.
