Motorsport UK is calling on universities, colleges and educational institutions across the UK to join its new Education Hub, a dedicated platform designed to connect students with educational pathways and career opportunities in motorsport.
The Motorsport UK Inclusion Hub has been expanded to include a dedicated Education Hub, providing prospective students with insight into the many education and career pathways available in the UK motorsport industry.
The new Education Hub brings together course information, student opportunities, industry links and career resources to help learners explore their options and understand how education can support their future ambitions in motorsport.
By bringing universities, colleges and educational institutes into one place, the platform helps learners understand available pathways and supports stronger connections between education and industry. The Education Hub launches with founding universities including National Motorsport Academy and University of Wales Trinity Saint David, both of which offer programmes designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge and industry insight needed for careers in motorsport and the wider automotive sector.
Motorsport UK is now encouraging additional universities and colleges to become part of the growing network, helping to promote educational opportunities and support the development of future motorsport talent.
It follows the launch, last year, of the Inclusion Hub, which was developed to make motorsport more accessible for young people, parents, teachers and career changers and has so far reached more than 47,000 people.
University student Daaud Zahir is just one of those to have benefitted. He experienced a Shell x Ferrari event and secured work experience at Lola Cars, which gave him hands-on exposure at the highest level of motorsport.
“The Inclusion Hub has been a vital catalyst for my career… proving that with the right visibility and support, a career in elite motorsport is within reach,” he explained.
A route to success
The Education Hub features universities and colleges offering courses and opportunities related to motorsport, including engineering, business, sustainability, media, events and technology.
It showcases institutions that are committed to providing relevant education, skills development and industry experiences and helping students to understand how their studies can lead to opportunities within motorsport.
Opportunities are accessible to learners from all backgrounds, helping to remove barriers to entering the motorsport industry.
