The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will move to Brands Hatch with the release of the provisional calendar for the 2026-27 season following validation from the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
The Kent circuit will host the London E-Prix on 29/30 May next year with two races over the weekend featuring the new GEN4 cars. With more power, all-wheel-drive and 100% recyclable or reusable construction, the new cars are set to shine on one of the UK’s best-loved circuits.
The change in venue comes with a shake-up in the championship’s race format with the established E-Prix format and an all-new sprint-style E-PrixUnleashed race suited to the faster GEN4 car’s strengths.
Confirmation of Brands Hatch as the new home for Formula E in the UK means that Britain will host rounds of every major FIA World Championship next year. Earlier this month the World Endurance Championship joined Formula 1 and the recently announced World Rally Championship round, cementing the nation’s status as the home of motorsport.
The event will also be the first FIA World Championship event at the storied Kent circuit since the World Touring Car Championship in 2010.
British fans will have much to celebrate at Brands Hatch, too. Two home-grown champions have been crowned in the last three years; Oliver Rowland is the current title-holder and is second in this season’s standings following recent success in Monaco, while 2022-23 winner Jake Dennis was victorious at last weekend’s Sanya E-Prix.
