Motorsport UK is proud to expand the Motorsport UK Recognised Karting Pathway with Daytona Motorsport, becoming the most recent addition to the Pathway by recognising a vital new entry point into competitive outdoor karting at an arrive-drive level, through the recognition of Daytona’s SuperChamps, InKart and Jamie Chadwick Series.
The Motorsport UK Karting Pathway is designed to acknowledge and support key routes into the sport. The structure recognises the full karting journey, from indoor karting through to outdoor arrive-and-drive competition, helping to create a clearer and more accessible progression for aspiring competitors. Through this approach, Motorsport UK recognises the important role played by Daytona Motorsport in developing young drivers. By working alongside one another, the two organisations can help strengthen the UK karting landscape and support the development of future motorsport talent as well as the recognition of existing competitors within the sport at the arrive-and-drive level.
The collaboration provides an opportunity for drivers to compete in recognised karting events outside of the traditional licence and permit structure, helping to bridge the gap between entry-level participation and higher-level arrive-and-drive competition. This aligns with Motorsport UK’s aim of streamlining the pathway into the sport, making progression simpler and more accessible for competitors.
While Daytona Motorsport operates independently and is not regulated by Motorsport UK, recognition of the pathway aligns the two organisations and enables Motorsport UK to recognise and engage with participation in the wider karting environment, that has, up until now, not had this recognition from Motorsport UK.
Daytona Motorsport operates three outdoor karting tracks at Milton Keynes, Sandown Park in Surrey and Tamworth in Staffordshire. Each offers entry-level but highly competitive arrive-and-drive championships: SuperChamps, InKart and the Jamie Chadwick Series, all of which provide an excellent foundation into competitive karting. The latter is designed exclusively for female competitors to encourage greater participation in the sport at entry level.
The expansion of the Motorsport UK Recognised Karting Pathway with Daytona Motorsport is an embodiment of the Vision: 2030 karting strategy to broaden the options available to competitors and recognising arrive-and-drive karting.
Dan Parker, Motorsport UK Head of Karting said: “This is a fantastic new initiative, and we are proud to establish an important new recognised route into competitive karting for participants aged 8 years and over. As well as creating a clearer pathway for those looking to progress from arrive-and-drive into wider competition, it also acknowledges the depth of talent, commitment and competitiveness among the many drivers already racing regularly in this part of the sport. That recognition matters, because this is an important and thriving area of karting in its own right.
