It is with great sadness that Motorsport UK and Clwyd Vale Motor Club confirm that Event Official Ian Williams passed away following a suspected medical episode during the Bob Twin Cam Memorial 12 Car Navigational Rally last night.

Despite the immediate response and best efforts of emergency services at the scene, Ian sadly passed away during the Event.

The Bob Twin Cam Memorial 12 Car Navigational Rally was established in honour of Ian’s father, Bob Williams, and rallying has been at the heart of the Williams family across four generations. Ian’s son and grandson were also officiating on the Event last night, reflecting the family’s lifelong commitment to the sport and the close-knit nature of the rallying community.

Motorsport UK and the organising team’s thoughts remain with Ian’s family, friends, and all those involved in the Event and the wider motorsport community at this incredibly difficult time.

Following the incident, the Event was suspended and did not continue.

Motorsport UK and the organising team are supporting the relevant authorities with their ongoing enquiries.

The family has requested privacy at this difficult time and no further information will be released at present.
