The first Regional Committee meeting of the year took place on the 12th of March; you can see a short summary of what was discussed below.
Progress was shared on digital improvements, including website redevelopment, the relaunch of the Resource Centre as the Knowledge Hub, enhancements to Sport:80, improved email communications and customer service systems, as well as the introduction of a new member benefits platform. The Pathways Project was outlined, reviewing how people enter and progress through motorsport, with an emphasis on reducing barriers, modernising examinations and supporting grassroots participation.
Further discussions covered sustainability, insurance, venues and governance. Clubs were encouraged to use the Carbon Calculator to support measuring emissions, assisted by Environmental Volunteers. Updates were provided on rally‑related insurance, medical provider indemnity, and new licensing requirements for Road Rally officials.
A venues working group will be established to share best practice on retaining and securing affordable venues. Additional items included LARA, safeguarding training feedback, award nominations, equality initiatives such as the Disabled Drivers Scholarship.
