Classic Nostalgia, a roaring end to National Motorsport Week
Shelsley Walsh’s Classic Nostalgia event, a fitting homage to the glory days of motorsport, was just one of the events to celebrate the final weekend of Motorsport UK’s National Motorsport Week.
The weekend saw a packed schedule of competitive hill climbing for the 14th anniversary of the Midland Automobile Club’s flagship event, with predominantly pre-1975 cars taking to the hill to test their mettle against the clock.
First used in 1905, Shelsley Walsh is the oldest motorsport venue in the world that still features its original course. Racers follow in the wheeltracks of motorsport greats such as Raymond Mays, Hans Stuck and the late Sir Stirling Moss.
Annie Goodyear, Competition Manager, Shelsley Walsh comments, “Our Classic Nostalgia event is the jewel in our crown, as we welcome increased numbers of drivers and motorsport fans year-on-year. National Motorsport Week might have come to a close, but we welcome anyone interested in getting involved in hillclimbing to come along and experience the action up close at any of our future events.”
