Sport:80 is a software company who specialise in the digital solution for sports organisations. Alongside over 80 other sports across the US and UK, Motorsport UK have partnered with Sport:80 to implement a new motorsport management platform.

Existing members will receive an invitation to register their account on the platform. 

New Members will need to visit the new platform and register. This will be linked from the main Motorsport UK website – www.motorsportuk.org.

In addition to the Q&A’s available on this area of our website there is also a detailed ‘Knowledge Base’ resource portal made available by the motorsport management platform to help with many queries associated with the portal. The new platform permits you to conveniently manage your account online. You can view your current licence/s, renew your membership, upgrade or downgrade as needed, upload any required documents, and keep your profile information up-to-date.  

We are aware a large number of members have up until now completed paper applications renew their licence(s). Whilst this will still be possible by implementing the new platform we will be encouraging a ‘digital first’ approach as many of the processes that could not be completed online previously have now been made available e.g. uploading your medical data for approval.

The ability for all members to complete a digital journey should improve the overall processing time for licences being issued. There are no changes to the physical licence fulfilment SLA’s as part of this implementation. Once approved, members will also benefit from immediate access to your licence digitally.

The platform offers tailored permissions for bodies using the platform who may have multiple users e.g. clubs, regions etc. This allows us to provide the right level of access and support for your specific needs.

While the motorsport management platform offers a convenient online application process, we understand that internet access isn’t always available or preferred by everyone. The traditional postal application method is still an option. 

The motorsport management platform is designed to be accessible, so you won’t need any special software. As long as you have a reliable internet connection, you can use most modern web browsers to access the system. 

The process for applying for our various types of licence/membership vary. You can find information on the options available and the processes here. Once you understand your journey follow the links and all of these options can then be progressed through the platform.

The requirements for obtaining your licence haven’t changed, however the platform greatly enhances this user experience allowing, for the first time, all member types to have a complete digital journey.

To make things as easy as possible, the platform supports a wide range of popular file types, including PDFs, JPEGs, JPGs, and PNGs. Plus, you can upload files up to 20MB in size

All members will be required to upload a picture to the new platform. The same file types and size limits will apply.

Account creation can be completed in just a few minutes and is similar to most other digital platform signups you will commonly complete.

The platform is designed to generate member notification e-mails at various steps in the process. This may on occasion include requesting additional information be provided to progress your application.

You can upload supporting documents at your convenience throughout the application process. However, once you’re ready to submit the final application, it needs to be completed in one session. 

We’ll keep you informed by sending reminders when your renewals are approaching. 

To ensure the system is recording and storing all data correctly we won’t be enabling automatic renewal at this time. This is something we will look to introduce in the future to make managing your renewal easier.

During this platform update, we’ve endeavoured to merge historic records and retain licence numbers where possible. This means there’s a good chance you’ll keep your existing number. However, there are a number of members who may have held multiple licence numbers during their tenure in the sport. There is a chance a record could be mapped against a previous licence number on first login. If this is the case contact our membership team and this can easily be corrected. No licence numbers will be lost of overwritten with new data.

All users will have a single user account which can have access to multiple profiles. These profiles may be, your individual profile holding your various licences, a club profile holding a role at your club, your membership of a regional association or even parent/guardian status over another user. Yes – the platform operates on an integration with a standard electronic payment provider Stripe and offers a number of popular payment methods akin to most standard e-commerce platforms.

You will still receive a physical version of your licence upon renewal, and it will also be readily available for you to access digitally via the platform.

Yes, you will be able to download your licence and add to the ‘Wallet’ using the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet functions on your device.

Your information has been securely transferred onto the new platform, in line with our current GDPR protocol.

You can manage your communication preferences directly within the platform. 

The new platform will contain a member benefits portal available to licence holders.
