Motorsport UK and MoneyGram Haas F1 Team will come together this Wednesday for the first-ever Race for Diversity community event.

Race for Diversity aims to increase awareness and subsequently participation of people from racially diverse and under-privileged backgrounds within the motorsport industry by creating and strengthening pathways to and within UK motorsport.

Inspired by the successful format used by FIA Girls on Track UK, Race for Diversity has created a community for registered members to meet at in-person events to share news, opportunities, advice or just to enjoy discussing the latest on-track battles.

The first-ever community event will be hosted by MoneyGram Haas F1 Team at its Banbury HQ. The group will hear from Haas personnel about their differing roles in the team, how they got started and then go for a VIP tour around the facility to see the different technical processes used by the team.

“Community events are important for people to grow their own network, which can inspire them to take the next steps in their career,” commented Jessica Runicles, Head of Sustainability at Motorsport UK. “F1 is a terrific platform for us to showcase some of the most vibrant jobs, but also hear how they can be achieved.

“We are really pleased Haas has opened its doors for our first-ever networking event. Many people within F1 started in a different form of motorsport so it’s important to demonstrate those pathways and give real-life accounts of how to move forward in the sport.”
