After a highly successful 2022, which saw a sell-out grid and the event’s highest number of team entries to date, Mission Motorsport will once again be partnering with the British Racing and Sportscar Car Club (BRSCC) to stage this weekend’s emotionally-charged Race of Remembrance at the scenic Anglesey Circuit in Wales.

Now in its ninth year, the moving weekend promises to provide not only Mission Motorsport beneficiaries with on-the-job training opportunities and driving experiences but the wider motorsport community with some challenging and exhilarating day-night racing.

Held across the Remembrance weekend (10-12 November), the main highlight once again is a unique 12-hour endurance race open to a wide variety of competition cars.

Following the well-liked format of recent successes, the race itself will commence at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon, continuing late into the evening before an overnight suspension from 21:00.

The action then resumes at 09:00 on Remembrance Sunday before the Safety Car pauses racing at 10:30 for an emotive service commemorating the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families. Conducted by a military padre in the pitlane, this brings competitors, race teams, spectators and support staff together as one community. The race will then continue at 11:30 before a winner is crowned at 15:00 when the race ends.

“Centred around the important act of remembrance – saluting our fallen comrades, family members or friends, and to support those who remain – Race of Remembrance provides a unique opportunity to participate in a very special, very poignant pitlane Remembrance Service as one community,” said James Cameron, CEO, Mission Motorsport. “By pausing all activity and live-streaming the service, we are ensuring that those who perhaps cannot attend a service in person can do so, regardless of where they are in the world.”

Providing further engagement, before the lights go out on Saturday afternoon an awesome array of supercars will take over the track providing Service Leavers, Veterans and their families with thrilling passenger rides around the spectacular Trac Môn venue.

Anglesey is just one in a series of events organised by Mission Motorsport across this reflective weekend. For a third year in succession, the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) is hosting its popular Race of Remembrance Karting at Thruxton. Once again, the sold-out two-hour endurance showdown on Remembrance Sunday will be suspended for a special pitlane service.

In March 2023, Mission Motorsport celebrated 11 years of operations and to date has engaged with over 2,040 wounded, injured and sick personnel, hosted in excess of  900 days of recovery sport and helped more than 2,000 service leavers including 300 wounded, injured or sick find employment in the automotive industry.
