Wave Italy, the high-level simulator manufacturer based in Italy’s ‘motorsport valley’ Maranello, and Motorsport UK are joining forces to bring the 2023 British F4 Esports Championship to life on the iRacing platform.

Following the successful 2022 season, won by Luke McKeown of the Apex Racing Team, the increased eight-round championship will largely replicate the real-world 2023 ROKiT British F4 Championship calendar, highlighted by a first visit to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Wave Italy offers sim racers high-performance driving peripherals ‘100% made in Maranello’, making them the perfect partner for season two of the weekly series which kicks off at Brands Hatch Indy on Wednesday, September 27.

After the Brands Hatch opener, the championship visits Donington Park (National), Snetterton 300, Oulton Park International, Silverstone GP, Knockhill and Donington GP before returning to Kent and taking on the rollercoaster Brands Hatch GP loop to round off the season in late November. Every round will be shown live on Motorsport UK TV.

Pitting pro sim racers and a mixture of real-world motorsport and Esports teams against each other, the championship’s previous prize pool of £6,000 has been increased for this year and iRacing’s Formula iR-4 – loosely based on the real-world British F4 machine – is now licenced by the FIA, taking up the ‘FIA F4’ moniker and adding another layer of authenticity to the contest.

Stormforce Racing ART have already confirmed their return to the series, as well as Teams’ champion Williams (who ran Munster Rugby Gaming in 2023) and newcomers Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Esports Team, with more teams to be announced in due course.
