Motorsport UK Academy Team UK driver Olli Caldwell will make his FIA Formula 2 debut with Campos Racing at the weekend. Olli joins the historic team for the final two rounds of the 2021 season in Jeddah and Yas Marina.

The 19-year-old steps up straight off the back of the 2021 FIA Formula 3 campaign, which saw the talented British driver celebrate his maiden victory and secure four podium positions in a challenging title battle.

Since he began karting, Olli has been on a one-way track to success. He has enjoyed success throughout his junior career, rising through the ranks in Formula 4 to become the youngest British points scorer in the championship. Before making his 2000 FIA Formula 3 debut, Olli claimed one victory and seven podium finishes in his rookie campaign in the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship.

Speaking of this latest step in his career, Olli commented: “I’m excited to join Campos for the last two rounds, they’ve made good progression throughout the year, so I’m looking forward to working with them. I want to thank the team for the opportunity; I can’t wait to see what the car can do and gain experience ahead of my goal of a full season in Formula 2 next year.”

Sporting Director of Campos Racing, Adrián Campos Jr., added: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Olli from Campos Racing. Olli is a driver who always awakened our interest, and very recently, he has played a key role in the FIA Formula 3, in which he performed excellently. Our goal is to help him rapidly adapt to the Formula 2 car. We feel confident that joining Ralph Boschung, our driver line-up will be able to deliver strong performances and achieve top results during the last two rounds.”
