After six action-packed rounds, the British Rally Championship showdown is set at the Ulster Rally, and Formula 1 travels to Qatar for its first race at the Losail International Circuit.

Motorsport UK British Rally Championship – Modern Tyres Ulster Rally

the thrilling fight for the coveted title all comes down to the final encounter this weekend. The stages around the Newry rally base will see the British Rally champion crowned on Saturday night, but standing in the way is over 93 competitive miles of merciless closed-road special tests. Add the prospect of the latter stages taking place under cover of darkness into the mix, and it’s all set to be a gripping final blast of 2021.

Aiming for a record-breaking third BRC title in a row is Conwy driver Matt Edwards who heads to Northern Ireland with the number one on the door. But fellow Welshman Osian Pryce will be doing all he can to take his maiden British Rally Championship title and starts the event in the box seat thanks to an eight-point lead in the standings.

FIA Volunteers Weekend

Volunteers are the power behind UK motorsport, and this weekend celebrates the army of officials who give up their spare time for free, so we can do what we love. Numerous motorsport events coincide with the #FIAVolunteersWeekend celebrations, and you can join in the conversation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Formula 1 Ooredoo Qatar Grand Prix

Formula 1 breaks new territory this weekend with the first-ever visit to both Qatar and the Losail International Circuit, a 5.8km venue traditionally used for motorcycle events.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) arrives with a 14-point deficit to chief title rival Max Verstappen (Red Bull) after victory in Sao Paolo last weekend, the sport concluding a gruelling triple-header across three different continents this time out.

Fellow Brits Lando Norris and George Russell – both Motorsport UK Academy graduates – will also look to kick off the season’s final leg on a high note, with McLaren ace Norris looking to defend a top-five spot the standings from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

For Russell, Qatar marks the first of his final three races for Williams and, with the first trip to Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi to follow, the 23-year-old will be aiming to sign off his three-year tenure with the Grove team on a high.
