What’s on in the South West – 18-19 September
We have reached the halfway point of Motorsport Month South West, but with two more weekends of motorsport left, it’s not too late to get involved in the multitude of disciplines across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.
Taking place along the coastline of Cornwall, the newly established Watergate Sprint invites spectators to experience a weekend of spectacular racing across the 820-metre closed road course.
Organised by three Motorsport UK registered clubs, the Truro and District Motor Club, Plymouth Motor Club and Newquay Auto Club, the event has a full capacity entry of 110 drivers who will take to the challenging course with optimal viewing spots for spectators along the picturesque coastal landscape.
Other motorsport events across the South West include an Autosolo at RAF Wroughton organised by the Bristol Motor Club, providing the perfect opportunity for those interested in starting to compete in motorsport. Bring your everyday road car and get racing! Another option for motorsport novices is Woolbridge Motor Club’s Taster Trial at Hogcliff Hill in Dorset. The club invites anyone with any model car to come and take part. Also on offer to motorsport enthusiasts is the Roger Pole & Torridge Classic Reliability Trial hosted by the Holsworthy Motor Club, or get trackside at the F100 90s race at Clay Pigeon Kart Circuit for the fifth round in the tour.
