This weekend brings with it a plethora of motorsport action both across the UK and further afield. From touring cars to Formula 1, here is what’s on!

FIA Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix

Formula 1 is back after an incredibly dramatic race at the British Grand Prix. Seven-time world champion and British driver Sir Lewis Hamilton came to Silverstone on a mission to win at his beloved home track, which led him to standing on the podium as the race winner.

This weekend the drivers will be racing around the 4.381km track in Budapest for the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. Will Verstappen further secure his lead in the championship, or will the track favour Hamilton’s Mercedes?

The Classic, Silverstone

Motorsport UK will be exhibiting at The Classic, Silverstone, this weekend, which promises to be a fun-filled weekend of iconic classic cars and historic racing. Don’t miss historic Formula One, GT, Touring Cars and Sports cars taking to the track at the home of British motorsport. This year also sees the historic motorsport festival celebrate its 30th Anniversary, with parades and amazing car displays taking place throughout the weekend.

British Touring Car Championship – Round 4 at Oulton Park

The touring cars are back and ready to hit the track at Oulton Park this weekend! In the previous round at Brands Hatch, Adam Morgan claimed his ninth British Touring Car Championship career win, with Tom Ingram and Tom Oliphant sharing the spoils.

A second-place finish at the Kent venue was enough for Ashley Sutton to continue to lead the championship standings, with Tom Ingram just three points behind. Can Ingram snatch the top spot from Sutton at Oulton Park?

Watch the action on ITV4 on Saturday 31st July from 3pm and Sunday 1st August from 11:50am.

 

FIA Formula 4 British Championship – Round 10, 11 & 12 at Oulton Park

As well as the BTCC teams, Formula 4 will be racing at Oulton Park this weekend. The current championship leader James Hedley is ahead of second place holder Matthew Rees by 20 points. Further down the grid, McKenzy Cresswell is motivated to achieve his maiden victory in the series, as well as impressing with his current third position in the standings.

An exciting weekend lies ahead at Oulton Park, and you can catch all the action live on ITV4.

 

Kartmasters – PF International Kart Circuit

It is an exciting weekend ahead for British karters, with the Motorsport UK Kartmasters British Kart Grand Prix taking place at PF International Kart Circuit. Drivers across ten classes will be competing throughout the weekend with heats on Friday and Saturday, before the talented young drivers display full throttle racing in the finals on Sunday.

W Series – Hungaroring

The W Series will be supporting Formula 1 once again, but this time in Budapest. After a successful weekend at the British Grand Prix for Alice Powell, there is no doubt the skilled driver will be looking to sustain her championship lead against her main competitors and fellow British drivers, Jamie Chadwick, and Sarah Moore.

FIA Formula 3 – Budapest

Also at the Hungaroring this weekend are the FIA Formula 3 Championship teams and drivers. Current championship leader Dan Hauger is leading by 41 points, ahead of British driver Olli Caldwell who is currently fourth.

Motorsport UK Academy Team UK member Johnathan Hoggard could work his way up the standings and will be pushing himself to the limit in this very challenging championship. This race will see British driver Jake Hughes replace Kaylen Frederick due to an injury from the race at Spielberg.

 

British Drag Racing Championship – Round 4 at Santa Pod

Santa Pod once again plays host to some extreme examples of motorsport action this weekend, with drag racing enthusiasts returning for the Mopar Nationals event. Drivers will be arriving in their Pro Mods to race in round four of the Motorsport UK British Championship and show why they have achieved the status of being the fastest and wildest drag racing cars.

 

British Hill Climb Championship – Round 19 & 20 at Wiscombe Park

In the last round of the British Hill Climb Championship at Prescott, near Cheltenham, Wallace Menzies yet again dominated the competition in both rounds, managing to continue his winning streak and defend against Sean Gould and Alex Summers. Menzies concluded the weekend with an eight-point lead in the championship standings.

Will Wallace Menzies triumph once again, or will his competition be ready to challenge him at Wiscombe Park?
