KZ2 gearing up for 2021 contest
Motorsport UK have today announced the KZ2 dates for the 2021 Wera Tools British Kart Championships.
The short circuit gearbox class are ready to do battle over four rounds this season with another intense season on the BKC billing.
The season will launch at the classic Shenington circuit in Oxfordshire in May. The series will then hurtle into Mansell Raceway in Devon before a journey to the Lake District with Rowrah in Cumbria home to the penultimate round. The final event is currently under consideration, with the full calendar announcement in due course.

Optional Friday practice sessions will be subject to confirmation and dependent upon any COVID-19 restrictions.
Registration for the championship will be frozen at the 2020 cost of £250, with event entries costing £199 per round or £299 for double header events, while Alpha Live are also confirmed for another season for comprehensive live streaming of each race meeting.
Motorsport UK Karting Manager Dan Parker said: “The start of the season is an exciting time of the year and we are pleased to announce the KZ2 calendar for the year ahead as we return to some great venues.
“The KZ2 karts are a real spectacle and the gearbox machines always put on a good show. We have three rounds already in place for 2021 and we are looking at running a fourth once again. We hope to have that confirmed as soon as possible to allow our competitors plenty of time to prepare for the new season.”
Safety remains the championship’s priority and when the new season begins, all venues and events will continue have the appropriate measures in place.
Registrations are set to open by mid-February 2021. Please note that numbers are limited in each class and that race numbers are issued on a first come first served basis
