Motorsport UK regrets to advise that a competitor lost their life as the result of an accident at the 500 Motor Racing Club of Ireland’s meeting at the Kirkistown Race Circuit in Northern Ireland today (Saturday, 27 July 2019).

As with all serious incidents in or around UK motor sport, Motorsport UK is now working with the event-organising club and the police to establish precisely what happened on this occasion. Event organisers are liaising with the competitor’s next of kin.

Motorsport UK sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased driver and requests that their privacy be respected.
