Motorsport UK headquarters are home to a variety of classic world championship winning helmets dating back to 1958, all the way through to today.
The collection features helmets belonging to some of the biggest names in the sport, offering a look back at the achievements of drivers who have helped shape British motorsport over the years.
The most recent addition to the collection arrived this week, with the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris being the latest to have his helmet placed amongst racing legends such as Sir Jackie Stewart and Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Norris became the 11th British FIA Formula 1 World Champion last year, adding his name to a list of British drivers who have reached the top of the sport. The title marked another major milestone in a career that has seen him progress from karting to the pinnacle of single-seater racing.
Norris began his motorsport journey in karting at 8-years-old, going on to win the KF1 World Championship in 2014, before competing in the F4 British Championship the following year, where he took eight wins and 14 podiums, to win the championship in an impressive debut season.
From there, Norris continued his rise through the junior categories before making his Formula 1 debut with McLaren in 2019. After several seasons competing at the front of the grid, his progress culminated in winning the World Championship in 2025, a moment that secured his place in the sport’s history.
The helmet on display features the fluorescent yellow swirls that have become synonymous with Norris. The distinctive colour scheme has been part of his helmet design in some form since his karting days, making it a recognisable feature throughout his journey from the junior ranks to Formula 1.
Its addition to the Motorsport UK collection provides a fitting record of a landmark moment in British motorsport, while placing Norris’ achievement alongside those of previous generations of world champions.
Motorsport UK members can come and visit the headquarters and see Lando’s signed championship winning helmet, alongside a host of other legendary memorabilia from across British motorsport.
