Wednesday 01 September 2021

The retro racing family festival has confirmed The Classic at Silverstone is moving to an exciting new August Bank Holiday date in 2022 (26-28 August), further cementing the event as the world’s biggest classic racing celebration.

The record-breaking displays of privately-owned classic cars and the unrivalled line-up of retro races from all of motorsport’s golden eras will be right at the heart of the famous three-day festival. And feverish qualifying sessions followed by a programme of spectacular showdowns on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, celebrating key marque and model milestones, will occur throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

As well as enhancing its global reputation as the epicentre of historic racing and automotive nostalgia, the family-friendly festival will continue to provide plenty of off-track entertainment for all generations to enjoy.

“By switching The Classic to the August Bank Holiday weekend, we are expanding what’s already an incredible family festival to create a fabulous end-of-summer celebration,” explained Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic’s promoter Goose Live Events. “Holiday weekends are always very special, and now The Classic will offer both petrolheads and fun-lovers a brilliant opportunity to maximise the much-loved three-day break.”

Full details of The Classic 2022 will be available in the coming months, with tickets on sale in good time for Christmas.
