This National Motorsport Week, Motorsport UK is celebrating motorsport in all of its disciplines, reducing the costs and complexity associated with getting involved in the sport. From competing to spectating, marshalling to volunteering, during 11 to 21 July motorsport in all of its forms is taking place across the UK. 

The Time Attack Championship, taking place on 20 July at Oulton Park showcases circuit racing across 11 disciplines, with 2024 marking the championship’s 19th season. The aim is to set the quickest lap time possible, with some classes not requiring a full licence or ARDS to compete.  

The event’s Clubman Class requires a standard road car to get drivers on the grid. 

Using the 2.69-mile ‘International’ configuration, the Oulton Park track features a combination of flat-out straights, fast and flowing sections, blind brows into unseen bends and almost dead-stop corners.  

Andy Barnes, Time Attack Championship Coordinator, says, “The Time Attack Championship is all about setting the quickest time possible around the circuit. From there the quicker you go, the further up the classes you go until you reach Pro Extreme which are highly complex and extremely fast machines. 

“Time Attack is the only real Motorsport of the aftermarket tuning world and as such as a hugely popular and well supported Championship with some great drivers and fantastic mix of cars from all genres, all being viewed by thousands of spectators at each event, there is nothing like it.” 

During the Championship, round five of the Motorsport UK Drift Pro Championship will also be taking place, with big-grid Racing Hondas Championship adding door-to-door racing to the day’s busy programme.
