Schools Education Programme
Motorsport UK’s School Education Programmes are free materials that are designed as a behind the scenes opportunity for children to learn about motorsport.
Aimed at girls and boys in Year 5 and 6, the programme immerses pupils in the exciting world of Motorsport, taking a look behind the scenes at the inner workings of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and Single Seater Racing.
Each programme has a series of 5 lessons which can be delivered over the course of one day, or over the course of the term – depending on the schools’ preference. Once downloaded, you will find comprehensive lesson plans which link to curriculum subjects, video/photo resources to accompany the lesson plans and all of the downloadable handouts that you might need.
We hope that the activities in these programmes will not only encourage your pupils to want to watch motor racing, but that it might also make your pupils think that motorsport might be a great place to work when they are older. For us at Motorsport UK, we hope that the activities will show your pupils, that there is a rightful place for everyone in the sport, regardless of gender, where they live or their ethnicity. In turn we hope this increases diversity within the sport.
