In memory of Simon Diffey, a much loved and missed member of the heritage motorsport community, Motorsport UK is proud to be supporting The Simon Diffey Heritage Motorsport Apprentice Award. 

Created in collaboration with the Heritage Skills Academy, the Award seeks to honour and continue Simon’s passion and ethos for Historic Motorsport. It achieves this through recognising and encouraging the next generation of young Heritage Apprentice Engineers.  

The Simon Diffey Heritage Motorsport Apprentice Award offers a unique opportunity for a young person to benefit from: 

• A one-month secondment with the Classic Team Lotus during the Summer 2023 race season 
• A £3,000 grant to cover the cost of accommodation, travel and subsistence during this secondment 

• The experience of at least one international Historic Motorsport event 
• The chance to obtain an ARDS race licence  

One of the current apprentices with the Heritage Skills Academy will be selected as the winner and announced at The Goodwood Revival 2022 by His Grace, The Duke of Richmond.
