Motorsport UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicole Bearne to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Following a career in motorsport spanning over 25 years, Nicole most recently led Internal Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team, operating at senior level in an organisation of 1,300 people.

Nicole (pictured with the four female drivers from British F4) began her motorsport career as a founding member of the British American Racing Formula 1 Team in 1998. Over the ensuing years, she remained with the team through a series of organisational transitions, from Honda Racing F1 Team to Brawn GP and ultimately culminating in the establishment of Mercedes-AMG Petronas by the close of 2009. A passionate advocate for the visibility and inclusion of women in motorsport and STEM careers, Nicole was a founding member of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas EDI Forum, in addition to actively contributing to the team’s Accelerate 25 Diversity & Inclusion programme and the development of Employee Resource Groups, including a Women’s Network.

A member of the Institute of Internal Communications, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and an Accredited PR practitioner, Nicole currently acts as a freelance communications and employee engagement consultant. She remains a passionate fan of all areas of motorsport and continues to actively encourage diversity through mentoring and educational outreach.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Board of Motorsport UK and look forward to supporting their initiatives to boost inclusion and involvement across the country,” commented Nicole Bearne. “I look forward to offering my professional expertise and support as the organisation continues to grow.”

“Nicole’s extensive career experience and communications expertise will see her become an asset to the Board,” commented David Richards CBE, Chair of Motorsport UK. “Her dedication to community engagement and varied network of contacts will provide valuable support and opportunities, as we continue to deliver our vision to open up motorsport to all.”
