There were plenty of motorsport events at the weekend with some competitors crowned 2021 Champions! Find out who raced to victory in the latest weekend review.

British Rally Championship – Round 5 at Beatson’s Building Supplies Mull Rally

Osian Pryce dominated round five, scooping maximum points at the Mull Rally and taking his first British Rally Championship victory since 2013, alongside co-driver Noel O’Sullivan. Junior BRC contenders William Creighton and Liam Regan secured a podium finish after a blistering drive across the relentless Mull roads.

The British Rally Championship returns for the Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally stage at the end of the month.

Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship – Round 9 at Donington Park

It was a successful weekend for both Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington at Donington Park. In addition to setting a new qualifying lap record at the iconic British track, Shedden concluded his weekend with two race wins under his belt. Colin Turkington also had a brilliant drive in the final race and claimed his 60th BTCC career victory.

The final round of the British Touring Car Championship takes place on 23-24 October at Brands Hatch. Who will claim the 2021 championship win? You’ll have to wait to find out! Click here for all the latest updates.

F4 British Championship certified by FIA – Rounds 25, 26 & 27 at Donington Park

British F4 driver Matthew Rees claimed two race victories at Donington Park at the weekend, cementing the top spot in the driver standings ahead of the final round at Brands Hatch. In the final race, the British driver made an early move on his teammate McKenzy Cresswell to claim first place, of which Rees defended until the chequered flag flew.

The final round of the F4 British Championship will take place alongside the BTCC at Brands Hatch later this month.

Motorsport UK British Kart Championships – IAME, TKM and Bambino at PFi

The PF International circuit hosted the final round of the 2021 British Kart Championships for the IAME, TKM and Bambino classes. After an intense and thrilling weekend of racing, 2021 Champions are:

  • Austin Newstead – 2021 Bambino British Kart Champion
  • Alfie Garford – 2021 Junior TKM British Kart Champion
  • James Pashley – 2021 TKM Extreme British Kart Champion
  • Clayton Ravenscroft – 2021 IAME Senior X30 British Kart Champion
  • Leo Robinson – 2021 IAME Mini X30 British Kart Champion
  • Zac Drummond – 2021 IAME Cadet British Kart Champion
  • Daniel Guinchard – 2021 IAME Junior X30 British Kart Champion

The 2021 Wera Tools British Kart Championships will return to PFi for the Rotax and Honda Cadet finals this coming weekend.

British Cross Country Championship – Round 6 at Walters Arena

Adrian Marfell and Paul Bartleman took their third win of the season in the Britpart Motorsport UK British Cross Country Championship and, in doing so, won the championship title. Colin and Will Gould took second after a closely fought battle with Rob Bool and Victoria Vaughan, who was hampered by brake problems on day two.

“It’s brilliant to have won the title,” said Marfell. “I’ve had two weeks of sleepless nights since the last round, and the pressure was building, so it’s great to get to the finish in the first place. Thank you to the organising team and marshals who have made a lot of competitors very happy with this year’s BXCC.”

October Bicester Scramble

Motorsport UK joined the October Bicester Scramble for the second event this year, where we invited members of the various committees to attend the event and explore our new headquarters. Motorsport UK and Scramble guests had the chance to look at the display vehicles presented outside the building, including an Aston Martin DB5, Shelby Cobra and a 1978 Zip Shaddow kart.

FIA Formula 1 Rolex Turkish Grand Prix 2021

Valterri Bottas secured the Turkish Grand Prix race win ahead of current championship leader Max Verstappen. Unfortunately, after a late decision to enter the pits, British driver Lewis Hamilton found himself dropping down the grid to take the checkered flag in fifth place. Fellow Briton and Motorsport UK Academy alumnus Lando Norris finished within the top ten to secure those all-important points. George Russell completed the race around Intercity Istanbul Park in fifteenth place.
