Weekend Review – 4-5 September
As we enter a new week, Motorsport UK looks back at all the motorsport action that happened this past weekend:
British Hill Climb Championship – Rounds 23 & 24 at Prescott
A great weekend was had by all at the British Hill Climb Championship. Round 23 of the championship saw Alex Summers take the win, clocking a time of 35.50, only 0.04 seconds ahead of runner-up Wallace Menzies. However, Wallace came back fighting in Round 24 and claimed the victory, posting a time of 34.65 seconds with Alex Summers and Scott Moran trailing behind the multiple Hill Climb winner.
The next round of the British Hill Climb Championship will be hosted at Craigantlet on the 11th September.

Motorsport UK British Sporting Trials Championship – Stuart Butterfield Round at Edenhall/Robin Jager Round at North Pennines
The return to the British Sporting Trials Championship after the summer break proved to be a sensational race event. Over the weekend, competitors took part in two championship rounds, with Josh Veale and Bob Smith claiming the overall win at the Stuart Butterfield Round at Edenhall.
The competitors will head to Bude this coming weekend for the Robin Alexander Round on the 11th-12th September.

Motorsport UK British Autotest Championship – Juniper Autotest
The Juniper Autotest took place at Cherwell Valley Services yesterday (Sunday 5th September), which ended with Alastair Moffatt claiming the overall win of this round and the championship, ahead of his closest competitor Malcolm Livingston.

Motorsport UK 2021 English Rally Championship and Motorsport UK Welsh Rally Championship – Woodpecker Rally
After a successful return in the previous round at the Nicky Grist Stages, Callum Black and Jack Morton were hoping to claim another win. However, the Woodpecker Stages Rally weekend concluded with Garry Pearson and Niall Burns taking first overall, ahead of runner-up drivers George Lepley and Tim Woodburn.
With the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire happening at the end of month (25th September 2021), can Pearson and Burns secure a second win, or will Callum Black and Jack Morton outpace the two drivers?

British Historic Rally Championship – Three Shires Rally
The British Historic Rally Championship started well for Nick Elliott and his co-driver who led by 37 seconds in SS2, a position Elliott continued to hold in SS3 and SS9.

2021 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship – Hills Ford Three Shires Rally
Over in Malvern, it was a successful weekend for Rally drivers Melvyn Evans and Mark Glennerster who dominated once again in their Skoda Fabia R5+ and scored maximum points, closely followed by Mark Kelly and Neil Colman.
The Asphalt Rally Championship will return for a double header on the 1st-2nd October at the Pokerstars Rally.

FIA Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort
There were high expectations for Dutch driver Max Verstappen to perform at Zandvoort this weekend and the Red Bull Racing driver delivered. After claiming pole position at the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix, Verstappen finds himself back at the top of the drivers’ standings, ahead of rival competitor Lewis Hamilton who secured second place.
The next round of the 2021 Formula One season takes place in Italy for the Gran Premio D’italia Grand Prix this weekend (10th-12th September).

W Series at Circuit Zandvoort
With few points separating British drivers Jamie Chadwick and Alice Powell, the race at Zandvoort was an opportunity for Powell to claim the lead in the driver standings. And that she did. Powell managed to perform a successful overtake of Emma Kimiläinen at turn 10 to finish the race in P1. Chadwick was not far behind, also getting past Kimiläinen in the latter part of the race to finish in P2.
The next round of the W Series championship takes place at the Circuit of the Americas on 22nd-23rd October 2021.

FIA Formula 3 at Circuit Zandvoort
A challenging weekend for the Formula 3 drivers at Zandvoort this past weekend, however it was a race win each for drivers Arthur Leclerc, Victor Martins and Dennis Hauger. Hauger continues his lead in the driver standings, widening the gap further between himself and Jack Doohan who experienced issues over the race weekend. British driver Olli Caldwell showed promise in the second race after finishing within the top ten, however the competitive final race placed the Prema Racing driver in fourteenth.
The F3 drivers will head to Sochi for the next round in the championship, taking place on the 24th-26th September.
