Another dramatic weekend of motorsport has come to a close, which saw some phenomenal displays of racing talent and results for both teams and drivers. Here’s a look back at some of the track action.

British Rally Championship – Round 3 at Grampian Forest Rally

It was a sensational weekend for BRC drivers Matthew Wilson and Elliott Edmondson who took the win at the Grampian Forest Stages, marking Wilson’s first in the championship since 2005. In the Junior BRC, Eamonn Kelly and Conor Mohan successfully claimed their maiden victory, which is impressive considering this was only their fourth gravel event. And in the championship standings, Rhys Yates continues to hold his lead position since the Nicky Grist Stages.

The next round of the British Rally Championship takes places in Yorkshire for the Trackrod Rally on the 24^th-25^th September.

British Touring Car Championship – Round 5 at Knockhill

The return to Knockhill proved to be a thrilling weekend for all British Touring Car Championship drivers, teams and spectators. Colin Turkington from Team BMW West Surrey Racing claimed a win in the opener, marking the 100^th win for the team. In race two of the weekend, Ash Sutton pushed himself to the absolute limit to secure his win ahead of Turkington, who led most of the race.

The next round of the British Touring Car Championship is at Thruxton on the 28^th-29^th August, where we look forward to seeing more exciting racing.

F4 British Championship certified by FIA – Round 13, 14 & 15 at Knockhill

More extraordinary racing took place this past weekend at Knockhill, with the F4 championship drivers producing some great trackside entertainment. Phinsys by Argenti driver Matias Zagazeta took his first pole position in qualifying on the Saturday, which was the first of multiple victories recorded by the driver who went on to finish P1 in the first and third races of the weekend. In the reverse grid race, McKenzy Creswell crossed the line in first place after making his way to the top of the grid early on in the session.

Matthew Rees continues to the lead in the 2021 championship standings, closely followed by James Hedley, with Matias Zagazeta climbing his way further to the top. Make sure you don’t miss out on the next race at Thruxton on 28^th – 29^th August.

GB3 Championship – Rounds 16, 17 & 18 at Silverstone

At the home of British motorsport, the GB3 Championship racing was underway in the next three rounds of the series. Ayrton Simmons came away from the weekend with a win in both race one and two at the iconic Silverstone track, narrowly missing out on a hattrick with championship leader Zak O’Sullivan claiming pole position in race three.

With a 108-point lead, O’Sullivan continues to dominate in this championship, but will his competition come back fighting for the next race at Oulton Park on the 11^th – 12^th September?

British Hill Climb Championship – Rounds 21 & 22 at Shelsley Walsh

The British Hill Climb Championship returned to the infamous Shelsley Walsh hill climb circuit for the next two rounds. On the first day, Sean Gould took the win by 0.15 seconds, just ahead of Alex Summers. Gould has shown his talent this championship, winning multiple rounds in the championship. However, the second day win was secured by Scott Moran who came just ahead of another multiple race winner, Wallace Menzies.

The next round of the British Hill Climb Championship returns to the Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire on the 4^th– 5^th September.

Scottish Rally Championship – Grampian Forest Rally

Alongside the British Rally Championship, the SRC descended on Milton of Crathes for the Grampian Forest Rally. After a puncture dulled the spirits of Garry Pearson and Niall Burns, the two drivers came back fighting to take the victory and achieved their first team win in the championship.

The Scottish Rally Championship will return on the 11^th September in the South West of Scotland for the Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally.

2021 BMW i Berlin E-Prix Presented by CBMM Niobium

It was a championship win for the Mercedes-EQ team and driver Nyck de Vries who finished the Season 7 finale as the inaugural World Champion. As well as impressive driving displayed by the Mercedes driver, British driver Oliver Rowland finished the race in P2 for the Nissan E.DAMS team, just getting ahead of the other Mercedes-EQ and ex-Formula 1 driver Stoffel Vandoorne.

WRC Renties Ypres Rally Belgium

In the World Rally Championship round in Belgium, it was a successful weekend for Thierry Neuville and co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe who took the coveted top spot. British driver Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin presented some close competition for the race winners who came fourth overall in this round.

In the Junior WRC, British rally driver Jon Armstrong came and conquered, securing a race win alongside co-driver Phil Hall. Both drivers managed to hold an impressive 49.9 second lead on day one and carried on this momentum throughout the race weekend.

The next round is the WRC EKO Acropolis Rally Greece which takes place on the 9^th – 12^th September.
