Motorsport UK is delighted to confirm Craig Evans has won the 2024 Award for Young Photographer of the Year.

Craig has covered a variety of series including F1, British GT, Touring Cars and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, building up a strong portfolio. He has most recently been photographing Formula E, covering the majority of the European season over the past three years. His website can be viewed here.

Craig commented on his win, “I still can’t quite believe it, for my work to be recognised by an award with such an esteemed reputation really is quite something. The industry is as competitive as ever, with some amazing young photographers and creatives out there producing some beautiful work. For my work to be selected this year as the winning portfolio is one of my proudest achievements to date.

“I’ve had doubts as to whether I can make my dream of becoming a motorsport photographer a reality. However, winning Motorsport UK’s Young Photographer of the Year Award is a reminder that all the hard work and effort I’ve put in over the years is carrying me in the right direction.”

Dom Vincent, the 2023 winner, added, “Winning the Motorsport UK Young Photographer of the Year award was a dream come true. It has been a goal of mine ever since I took up motorsport photography back in 2019.

“The prize money was a great help in expanding my gear. I was able to upgrade to a two-camera setup by purchasing a Nikon D500 alongside a Nikon 70-200mm lens to further add variety to my photography work.

“It has been a very exciting year since having been announced and I am very excited for what the future holds.”

The Motorsport UK Young Media Awards winners will be honoured at the annual Motorsport UK Night of Champions, held at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall in January 2025. The recipients will receive a Motorsport UK trophy as well as a £1,000 prize to further their progress within motorsport media.
