Motorsport UK Academy opens applications for its 2025 intake of the Team UK Futures & Co-Drivers Programmes
The Motorsport UK Academy is looking for the next generation of the UK’s most promising young drivers and co-drivers to join its talent development pathway.
Using a holistic approach, the Motorsport UK Academy provides training and insights into the technical/tactical, psychological, physical and commercial aspects of athlete development. Working with key industry experts and practitioners, the Academy creates opportunities for drivers and co-drivers on the programmes to gain insight into the top levels of the sport, across several disciplines.
Delivered through in-person workshops and industry site visits, the Academy draws on the expertise of its support network, through relationships with Porsche Human Performance, Hintsa, iZone, Williams Esports and Bicester Hotel Golf & Spa, to name a few.
On the Co-Driver programme, the partnership with M-Sport has also provided unique on event opportunities, for selected members of the programme to gain experience working with a World Rally Championship team.
“The Academy is designed to support drivers and co-drivers to develop their knowledge, skills and performance mindset needed to maximise their potential.”, commented Tom Hartley, Head of Competitor Development at Motorsport UK. “The additional benefit of performance management support from the qualified and experienced Academy Coaches brings the discipline specific context needed for each individual athlete, creating a well-rounded programme of support.”
Futures Y2 graduate and 2024 Ligier JS P4 European Champion Theo Micouris added, ““I have loved my time working with Motorsport UK in the Academy and it has created incredible memories. It’s been great to work with other drivers across all forms and categories of Motorsport, to help improve and perfect our abilities in each area of being a racing driver. It has massively helped me both on and off track, to get to where I am today.”
