Kick off the motorsport season with Autosport International

Tuesday 07 January 2025

Europe’s largest motor show, Autosport International, is back from January 9 to 12 at the NEC in Birmingham, celebrating motorsport in all its glory – with a bigger and better line-up promised for 2025.

This year’s event will see visitors once again experiencing a host of displays, exhibitor stands covering all sectors of the sport, plenty of racing simulators, an action-packed Live Action Arena plus a wealth of interviews with drivers, manufacturers and industry figures on the main Autosport stage. Personalities confirmed for Q&A sessions include MoneyGram Haas F1’s Oliver Bearman and Mark Grain, Technical Director for Extreme.

Motorsport UK members attending the event are entitled to a £15 discount off their ticket. To get yours ahead of the show, use the code Fifteen at the checkout.

This year’s Motorsport UK theme will focus on arrive-and-drive opportunities across the sport. Members of our Motorsport UK team will be on hand at stand A24 in the main hall (Hall 3), packed with a display of cars, visits from British motorsport champions and personalities, and staff offering helpful advice on licences, roles within the motorsport community and the different disciplines within the UK motorsport landscape.

The stand will feature an inspiring line-up of machinery ranging from a 1.6 super-charged MINI Rally, a Fun Cup 130 bhp powered by a VW/Audi petrol engine and a 1961 MG Coupe from Hero-ERA.

Visitors can also learn more about starting or progressing their individual journeys in motorsport while rubbing shoulders with champions such as BTCC legend Tom Ingram and BBC F1 host Jennie Gow.

Throughout the show members will have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee at the stand whilst renewing their competition licence or taking one out for the first time. For those looking for the perfect gift for a loved one, or looking to kick off their motorsport journey, Starter Packs for Race, Karting and Rally will be available to purchase. Or, buy one now at: https://getstarted.motorsportuk.org.

Motorsport UK will also be launching its 2026 Motorsport UK British Champions of the Future Academy Program, a new international opportunity for competitors to showcase their talent at four locations in 2026. Drivers will be able to compete in the Mini 60, Ages 8 – 12 (chassis – Parolin powered by TM), OK-N Junior, Ages 12-14 (chassis – Kart Republic powered by IAME) and OK-N Senior Ages 15 plus (chassis – Kart Republic powered by IAME) classes.

Motorsport UK Academy drivers will also be at the show to answer any questions about progressing through the competitive ranks as a driver, co-driver or coach.

Motorsport UK will also be launching its Inclusion Hub, at stand 3262, bringing together complimentary organisations, within the STEAM and EDI space under one umbrella.

The Hub, a website created in collaboration with and commissioned by Mission 44, includes organisations such as Formula Student, Girls across the Grid, Greenpower, Racing Price, the Student Motorsport Challenge and Motorsport UK’s own Girls on Track UK and Race for Diversity initiatives. This initiative is part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the motorsport industry, addressing underrepresentation and promoting STEAM education.

With the wider public admitted over the weekend, grassroots opportunities will also be showcased with representatives from Motorsport UK’s StreetCar programme on-hand to answer any questions. Visitors can also learn how to enter the sport through volunteering, either as a marshal or official.

Our state-of-the-art simulator will form part of the Esports stand, at 3A 551 in Hall 3 where Motorsport UK’s Head of Esports, Paul Crawford, will be on hand to offer some expert tips, alongside team members. A series of competitions will be running across the weekend, with the chance to win a half day at Base Performance on a GT simulator, and a Base Performance FW1 Steering Wheel.

So, whether you are searching for ways into the thrilling world of motorsport, looking for exhilarating new competitive experiences or simply wish to renew your licence for 2025, please come and see us on the Motorsport UK display stand in Hall 3.
