It’s Games Week!

Tuesday 22 October 2024

It’s nearly time for the third edition of the FIA Motorsport Games, and Team UK is on its way to Spain’s City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia, to compete as one of 85 participating drivers in this year’s FIA Motorsport Games.

This year’s field will see over 650 competitors take part, with Team UK boasting a stellar 24 athletes across 16 disciplines.

Cheryl Lynch, Head of Race and Speed comments, “This 2024 edition of the FIA Motorsport Games will see our largest cohort of 24 competitors competing across 16 disciplines in Valencia, Spain. As one of the 85 ASNs involved in the delivery and organisation of the FIA Motorsport Games, this truly showcases how motorsport continues to grow in popularity and accessibility, not only for fans but also for athletes looking to take part in the sport. We wish all of Team UK the best of luck and want to extend our thanks to the FIA for once again running what promises to be an action-packed cross-discipline event.”

Chris Froggatt, who returns as Team UK Captain and competitor in the GT Cup, will be returning to battle for a place on the podium.

“The FIA’s Motorsport Games is a three-day, multi-discipline motorsport event covering everything from karting to Esports to GTs and even – new for 2024 – truck racing. It’s essentially a motoring-oriented equivalent of the Olympics, with a plethora of events taking place and, crucially, drivers competing for their countries. That swap to countries over teams makes it a very different prospect – both for drivers and for fans.

“Nowhere else will you see a better collection of names competing in earnest. And that’s part of what makes Motorsport Games unique – the opportunity to watch hungry young drivers taking on experienced pros. The upstarts desperately want to prove themselves on this global stage against seasoned professionals, while those same professionals almost have their reputation on the line each time they take to the track.”

Stay tuned… The FIA Motorsport Games YouTube channel will be live streaming throughout the event so please do follow and watch along.
