Girls on Track celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Tuesday 11 February 2025

Girls on Track held a successful activation at Truro Girls High School, celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The event welcomed around 100 girls aged from 11 to 12 years-old from both Truro High School for girls and local state schools.

Supported by one of the programme’s partners, Enovation Consulting, a specialist sustainability and strategic management consultancy who facilitate the STEM-based activities at the ever-successful school days, the girls underwent a series of activities to test reaction times and simulate working in a Formula 1 environment.

Inclusion Ambassadors Louise Goodman and Cristiana Pace were present for the presenting and sustainability elements during the day, during which the girls ran their own mini media campaign and considered the importance of environmental sustainability within motorsport.

Jenny Fletcher, Girls on Track UK Manager comments, “As our programme continues to grow, it’s wonderful to be able to share these opportunities and connections with girls who are just considering what their future career trajectory may look like. I hope that we can accompany some of the Cornwall-based attendees on their journeys towards a position in STEM.”

Girls on Track UK is an initiative to inspire girls and women into seeing and believing that there is a rightful and valuable place for them in the motorsports industry. With over 10,000 members, the programme offers young women the opportunity to connect with community networking groups and to meet successful women in the motorsport industry through inspirational virtual events.
