Edgar goes for gold in Karting Sprint Junior
Fourteen-year-old Jorge Edgar has taken gold in the Karting Sprint Junior category, at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games.
The karter started in P7 on a packed grid at the Aspar Circuit this Sunday.
Edgar commented on his win, “It’s really good to win the first Team UK gold medal, especially as how good the drivers are here for Team UK, so it really means a lot to me to win the first gold medal.”
The teen follows in the footsteps of his sister, Jess, who competed in the 2018 FIA Motorsport Games.
The Karting Sprint Junior discipline saw 36-kart entries, in which competitors aged 11-14 get to grips with the FIA-supplied CIK homologated Kart Republic chassis, powered by IAME engines with MOJO tyres.
