About Us
Formula G is the UK's hottest gymkhana race series and offers one of the most affordable routes in to competitive motorsport.
Gymkhana is a motorsport that requires drivers to skilfully navigate their cars around a series of obstacles including slaloms, 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, figure-of-eight turns, or other obstacles using a combination of grip and slip to complete the course in the fastest time.
Gymkhana courses can be quite complex and memorising the course is essential to achieving a fast time. The sport is not judged, only your time counts, so also requires consistency and accuracy as well as technical ability. Drivers will be pitched against their competitors in head-to-head battles on mirror image tracks - to reach the top step of the podium, you must master both sides and survive the knock out rounds all the way to the final!
What do you need to compete in Formula G?
We have designed Formula G to be an inclusive event with a very low barrier to entry for all. As such, entry requirements are minimal. You will need:
- membership to Club Formula G;
- a drivers licence (although we can accommodate 14-17 year olds in certain circumstances, please contact us to find out more!);
- an MSUK RS Clubman licence (apply for free here);
- a helmet (E-marked);
- a fire extinguisher securely bolted in to the car; and
- a car!
Any car will do! We currently have two classes: 2WD, to include all RWD and FWD vehicles; and the AWD class. You could pretty much join in the action with whatever is on your driveway! Of course, your car will be checked over by the team to make sure the vehicle meets the minimum safety requirements to compete. You can read the full regulations here to find out which modifications are permitted, and which are not.
How do events work?
Drivers can enter events via the membership portal. Once your entry is accepted, you can start your preparations!
Upon arrival and signing on, youll be given race numbers and stickers (if you dont already have these), the Formula G team will come and check over the car, and will then give you the green light to head to the drivers briefing.
Drivers are provided with track maps following the briefing, and its here that races are won and lost. Youll have to study and learn both the left and right hand lane. Drivers will then be allowed to head onto the closed track and walk both layouts. Its important to make mental notes as getting lost on the track will result in a DNF.
The morning session is dedicated to open practice - you can run as many times as you need to master the course.
After a break for lunch, its time to qualify for the battles. Each driver will get four runs - two on each side of the track - to set the fastest time they can. Reaction times dont count here, but penalties do! Your fastest time of the four runs will determine your opponent in the knock-outs.
The top 16 drivers will then progress to the battles, and now the pressure is really on. Reaction times count now, and drivers will compete head to head before switching sides to set the fastest combined time. The winner will progress to the next round, and the loser is eliminated. 16 becomes 8, then 4, and then 2!
Once the winner has been determined, we then hold a short podium ceremony to hand out prizes. As well as the top 3 in each category, we also award prizes to the Fastest Novice and the Fastest Junior.
If youd like to learn more, or fancy giving gymkhana a go, keep an eye on our Race Calendar for practice days and novice-only days. Alternatively, join the club to enjoy member discounts and be the first to hear about upcoming events.

About Us
About the Time Attack Championship
Time Attack defines the art of building, running and driving a car in pursuit of the quickest lap-time. To do so means pushing to the absolute limit on the knife edge of engine power, response, mechanical grip, chassis set-up, aerodynamics and reliability.
Originating in Japan and introduced to Britain in 2006, the UK championship has since become the largest and most professional series of its kind and is regarded as the most competitive Time Attack operation in the world. It attracts drivers and teams from all corners of the British Isles, as well as many from overseas, assembling an eclectic mix of cars that readily relate to those owned by many of the 1,000s of spectators and on-line supporters who follow the championship.
To ensure close competition, the classing system has evolved into specific categories from street spec to purpose built racing machines. It recognises differing levels of car specifications, potential lap-times, modifications and drive-line. In recent times the championship has extended its appeal to prototypes and purpose built machines that has seen cars of over 1000hp regularly taking part.
Organisers work hard to ensure that every Time Attack event becomes a weekend to remember, with many of the rounds supported by spectacular and well-attended car shows, which means there are always plenty of spectators watching the action.
Time Attack is held at the UKs leading racetracks and is organised to the same level (or beyond) of organisation as top-level circuit races. Over an hour of track time per round is on offer, with four sessions during the day comprising Warm up, Practice, Qualifying and the Final. Results are calculated from the lap times set in the Final session.
Competitors who register for the full season will score championship points. Single round entries are also accepted.
The space-not-race format of Time Attack makes it one of the most appealing disciplines for new drivers looking to start their motorsport journey. Consequently, organisers are well versed in helping newcomers to the sport, whatever car they drive.

Cookstown Motor Club Ltd
Club Information
About Us
Cookstown Motor Club has had a long and distinguished history. Its origins can be traced back to the forties when it was formed as a part of the Cookstown and District Motor Cycle and Car Club.
In 1970 a new club was formed to promote navigation rallying and autotesting, to be known as Cookstown and District Motor Enthusiasts` Club Ltd.
Cookstown Motor Club went through a revival in its jubilee year of 1995 when enthusiasm was rekindled and club ranks quickly grew to undertake organising and running a variety of events, including its first competitive event in a number of years - a very successful autotest.
Following rationalisation in more recent times, the club is now known simply as Cookstown Motor Club Limited. Over the past many years the Club's experience and confidence has developed with a consequent growth in the number of competitive events which it has organised.
These include autotests, rally time trials, navigation rallies and stage rallies.
Club members have offered, and continue willingly to offer, help and assistance to many other motor clubs throughout the year.
Club meetings are held in the Killymoon Golf Club, Cookstown on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. All members and interested non members are warmly welcomed.

Club delegates attendance at the monthly meetings not only provide useful information about many aspects of motor sport organisation, but also gives the delegates the opportunity to meet with people who have a wealth of knowledge in this field.
The CMSG together with the Cotswold Motor Sport Group Competitors Club (CMSGCC) currently promote five championships (Stage Rally, Car Trial, Roadsport, Targa Rally and AutoSolo ) with support from BP Motor Bodybuilders & Engineers, with whom we are pleased to be associated.
Full detail about CMSG and CMSGCC are available from our web site at www.cmsg.co.uk
