About Us

We are a friendly motor club, based in Cumbria; founded in 1959 by and for the men and women who worked at the Spadeadam Rocket Range, building the Blue Streak Rocket.

Today, membership is open to any member of the public who has an interest in motorsport.

We hold meetings on the second Thursday of each month, starting at 8.00pm, at the Howard Arms, Brampton, Cumbria (CA8 1NG). Sometimes we may go on a visit, or some of the club competitions start at a different location, so it's always good to check the events calendar on the club website or Facebook.

We run a competitive autotest championship throughout the year. Our main club event is the Blue Streak Targa & Historic Rally, this is held in August and based in North Cumbria. It is a round of the NESCRO Challenge.

Our members have a long history of being involved in marshalling, and Spadeadam M.C. marshals can still be found on many local events and events further afield. Most of our marshalling is rallying based, but this covers a variety of different types: stage rallying (tarmac & gravel), targa rallying, 12 car rallies and historic road rallies.

Club members are also involved in competing in stage rallying, targa rallying, road rallying and sprints and hillclimbs.

If you'd like to know more about us, please come along to a club night, check out the website or "like us" on Facebook.

About Us

We are a small but friendly collection of motorsport enthusiasts, predominantly focused around Stage Rallying. We have long established roots in the sport with members competing on, marshalling for and helping to organise rally events for over 4 decades. We can offer advice on how to get started in motorsport, whatever your interest - we're a friendly bunch and we don't bite! You can follow us on Facebook and Twitter, ask questions or even come along to one of the monthly club meets (usually first Wednesday of each month, generally around the Sutton Coldfield area, although we do try to move it around the Midlands to suit the members) where it's always easier to sit down and have a chat about things in person.

Stroud & District Motor Club celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2000 and marked it's 60th year in 2010 with a series of celebratory events. Over the last sixty plus years we have organised many different motor sporting events although in recent years the Club has concentrated primarily on trials. Our members compete regularly, and with great success, in the MCC and ACTC classics.

The Club promotes three classic trials:
Cotswold Clouds Trial in February.
Classic Trial (single venue classic)
Mechanics Trial

We also organise a series of summer PCTs.

On the social side there are regular events throughout the year culminating in the always-oversubscribed and not-to-be-missed Dinner Dance in November/December.

A regular Club Night is held every second Monday in the month from 9.00pm onwards at Fromebridge Mill, Whitminster. GL2 7PB Come along and see what makes us one of the friendliest motor clubs in Gloucestershire.

Suffolk Four Wheel Drive Club

Club Information

Member Type Motor Club
Year Club Established 1987

About Us

Suffolk Four Wheel Drive Club was founded in 1986 by a small group of off-road enthusiasts aiming to cater for drivers of all makes of 4x4, not just Land Rovers.

From its beginnings, the emphasis has been on a friendly, fun approach to off-road events, with enough rules to maintain safety standards, without becoming bogged down with regulations for their own sake.

New members have always been welcomed, with friendly advice for novice drivers and the offer of a tow out whenever anyone gets stuck….once a photo or two has been taken.

The majority of the club’s events have been competitive trials, carried out within the regulatory control of the Motorsport UK; promotional driving days open to the public, plus occasional social and challenge type events. All club events are carried out on private land, with the landowner’s consent and appropriate competition and/or public liability insurance.

In addition to trials, the club holds three Public Driving Days throughout the year. As the name suggests, these are open to the public who are welcome to come and pay and drive their own vehicles. There is always help in the form of both friendly advice on off-road driving techniques and recovery, if necessary.

Over time, the competition element of the club has evolved to comprise four classes of competitive vehicles.

Our competitive events can be entered with anything from a standard road going 4x4, providing it has a few minor safety features and good tow points to purpose built specials with full roll cages, differential locks etc etc.

Trials are competitive events where entrants take it in turn to drive relatively short courses negotiating a range of terrain. The intended route being between pairs of numbered canes, referred to as gates. The idea is to drive as much of the route or section as possible without touching the canes or stopping. It is not a speed event, and can therefore be attempted with the minimum risk of vehicle damage.

Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club

About Us

Welcome to the Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club

The Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club was formed and exists to promote the ownership, enjoyment and experience to owners of Land Rover vehicles.

It is a fact that many owners are not familiar with either the potential or the correct driving techniques of these vehicles. Only with proper training can confidence be gained and the full potential of these vehicles realised.

The Club seeks to train its members by giving them experience in a controlled environment. In this way bad habits are not picked up and they can enjoy the off-road capability that every Land Rover has. This takes the form of hints, tips and advice on normal driving days as well as specific day long courses, delivered by our in house BORDA trainers, covering basic driving techniques, winching and marshalling. A competitive element is added to this during a range of trials and fun days.

Across the course of the year the club offers driving days, trials, team challenges and camp-overs at its own off road site and club outings to local shows and attractions.

The club membership of approximately 450 covers the whole spectrum of Solihull products, from early Series Ones to the latest Freelander models, and everything in between – however ownership of a vehicle is not a prerequisite of joining the club, all you need is to be interested.

The Club has been involved with conservation projects with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Winch equipped Land Rovers proved to be the perfect vehicles for working in areas which were otherwise inaccessible for other volunteers.

The club thrives on a friendly, sociable attitude, where everyone is welcome to come and join in - so if you live in or around Suffolk and have an interest in Land Rovers come along and join in the fun.
