About Us

The Scottish Hill rally Club (SHRC) is the club for people who believe in Hill Rallies: people who want to be involved in organising them; people who want to be involved in running them; people who want to compete in them.

The primary purpose of the club is to promote Hill Rallies in Scotland, and we do this in a number of ways:

* We support the Scottish Competitive Safari scene
* We promote Hill Rallies at Regional and National level
* We attend Motor Shows at times as well

Without the Comp Safaris there are no future competitors for Hill Rallies, therefore SHRC supports the SCCC by permitting the events and providing a Club Steward for the events.

About Us

Silverton and Mid-Devon Motor Club is a member of the Motorsport UK and the Association of South Western Motor Clubs. Silverton and Mid-Devon Motor Club welcomes new members. We meet on the first Thursday of every month at the Halfway House, Willand from 7.30pm.

Silverton and Mid-Devon Motor Club is over forty years ago, we qualified to join the Motor Sports Association in 1979.

Over the years, the different events organised by the club, generated interest from all around the county, even spreading into our neighbouring county of Cornwall. With the passing of the years, the predominant membership came from the Culm Valley area, which lead to the club moving from the Silverton area to the Culm Valley. However, we were determined to keep the name of the Silverton Motor Club alive.

Silverton and Mid-Devon Motor Club now holds its committee meeting at the Halfway House, Willand with committee members arriving from the surrounding area.
The club has built up a good reputation over the years for its ability to organise events, providing professional marshalling on all levels of motorsport events (ranging from driving test, through classic trials, national championship events to international stage rallies) and our members have represented their club competing in all types of events.

Our current Chairman is Andy Roberts; Chief Marshal is Pete Fowle and our Club Secretary is Roger Nunn.

The club aims to promote motorsport and marshalling and to encourage all competing members in their chosen field of motorsport.

The Clubs main activities at the moment are as follows:
• Regular Navigational scatter events, with a club championship.
• Event marshalling.
• Marshal training and registration.
• Encouraging club members to train for MSUK recognised motorsport duties.
• Organising and co-promoting single venue stage rallies.
• Supporting other clubs and organisations.
• Social events for the club e.g. skittles, BBQs and social gatherings.
• Promoting club merchandise e.g. windscreen badges and mugs.

Silverton and Mid-Devon Motor Club is always open to new people who are motor sport enthusiasts and who would like to have a go, be involved in the organisation, or just turn up to motor sport events.

About Us

The South of Scotand Car Club will be 65 years old in 2016, an anniversary worth celebrating!!

It all started back in the late 40`s, when a group of dashing young men got together, to test their driving skills against each other.
By 1954, a club championship was organised and the Queensberry Trophy, originally donated by one of the founder members, a young Doctor Watson of Thornhill, was won in 1954, by none other than one Doctor Watson!
Other founder members included His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch, who was until 2007, our Honorary President and also the late Sir Hector Monro, who until a few years ago, was the local MP.

Many trophies have accumulated over the years and once a year they are collected at our annual awards ceremony in early February, by a large number of competitors, who have travelled far and wide to compete.
Our membership continues to grow and you are invited to join us. All subscriptions received last from January 1st right through to December 31st.

To join, please contact our membership secretary, Warren Gillespie- his details are given above.

About Us

The aim of SCOR is to have fun driving off road, have a little bit of competition and very much drive safely.
New members are most welcome. Membership is £20 for the year and that enables you to compete in Club events (provided you and your vehicle meet the requirements) or £10 for an Associate membership that allows you to passenger.
The Club does offer invited Clubs to participate in SCOR Safari events – so you may be able to use an existing membership card from another affiliated club. Please do check your club is on the permit first – either by emailing the Club website or the Safari Comp Sec.
All members are equal in SCOR – so it does not matter if your car cost £50 or £50k – if it is broken down – it’s still a pile of metal! So come along to an event, chat to people, guaranteed if you put the bonnet up on your car – it will attract an audience and plenty of ‘good’ advice…
Trials normally run two classes – dependent on how adapted or adaptable your vehicle is:
CLASS 1 is laid out with particular thought to road going vehicles and the sections endeavour to avoid hazards which may mark body work.
CLASS 2 are laid out with particular thought to those drivers who desire a more challenging course and are willing to accept there may be a risk of marking body work.
Safaris run 4 classes – engine size is the key but there is one class for 2wd:
Class A 4WD vehicles up to 2500cc, suspension free. 4WD vehicles with all leaf sprung suspension, engines free. Standard production vehicles.
Class B 4WD vehicles from 2501cc to 4000cc and diesels.
Class C 4WD vehicles, over 4000cc.
Class D 2WD vehicles, engines and suspension free

If you have any questions about what class you might be able to enter, when you have to turn up, how much are entry fees etc. – you can email via the website or email the Competition Secretaries.
