About Us

In the Autumn of 1996 an advert was placed in various Off Road Magazines and Regional Papers by Daron Horne asking if anyone would be interested in starting a local club for 4x4 enthusiasts in and around the Lincolnshire area. The then manager of Bainland Country Park in Woodhall Spa, David Dain contacted Daron and a meeting was held between them, it was decided to hold an open night at the park to determine the level of interest and again an advertisement was placed and other established clubs were contacted and invited, these included The All Wheel Drive Club, Lincolnshire Landrover Club and East Midlands Off Road Club.

This open night proved to be a success, with a good turn out of people who were interested in the prospect of a new club. It was at this point that the offer of help came from Dave Blackburn, between the three of them they tackled obstacles such as a proposed name for the club, venues, insurance issues and gaining the definative map details for usable Green Lanes. When the following open night was held the club was given it's title of "The Lincs Off Road Club" or LOR for short, and an agreement was made to enrol a committee for the smooth running of the club, the members then were Dave Blackburn Chairman, David Dain Treasurer, Daron Horne Green Lane Rep and Joe Epps for Membership and Newsletters....

As the club set down it's roots the membership list grew, as did the chance to play when David was approached by a very kind land owner who offered the club the use of their land located near to Bainland. A request for help at the site was made at the next month’s meeting and over a few wet, windy and muddy weekends of sawing, digging, clearing and setting out a course the new venue was set. During these weekends a brand new Four trak entered the site owned by Val Sylvester, and yes it was soon on the course getting nice and muddy like the rest of us. Val soon became the clubs Secretary a post she still holds today.

The club went from strength to strength. The first Play Day and Green Lane Day went ahead, both of which were great successes for the club. At this point we welcomed a new member to the committee Matt Brookfield who was soon followed by Lance Hicks before handing over to the current Chairman Frederick McGregor.

There have been many people working extremely hard for the club since it started back in 1996 and it would be impossible to mention everybody, but you all know who you are and the club would like to say a huge thank you, as without these individuals the club would not be the success it is today......

We are always looking for ways to improve and promote the running of the club and would welcome comments from anyone regarding any changes we can make.

We meet most Monday evenings at the Lonsdale Club in Preston, so come along to see what we are all about. Newcomers are always welcome. You don’t even need to be interested in competing since we are always on the lookout for volunteers to help in the organisation and running of the events.

About Us

Lotus on Track is Europe’s largest track day club and prides itself on providing friendly, safe and good-value track days. The Lotus on Track Racing Drivers’ Club was formed to provide a platform for Lotus owners to move into motorsport carrying the Lotus on Track principles to the starting grid.

LoTRDC (Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club) was launched at the end of 2006 in conjunction with MSVR.

Until 2007 there were only a handful of Lotus cars racing on the same grid. The Lotus on Track Elise Trophy was launched at Brands Hatch in March 2007 and changed that with full grids, huge support from the Lotus community & Group Lotus and plenty of action at circuits across the UK and into Europe.

In 2008 Group Lotus asked LoTRDC to take over the organisation of Lotus Cup Europe, the World’s only race series owned by Group Lotus. By the end of the 2010 season, just 2 years into its partnership LoTRDC has more than trebled the number of cars competing whilst the series had visited Europe’s premier circuits.

In 2011 LoTRDC launched a new championship: Lotus Cup UK. The championship was aimed at those who wanted to take their Lotus racing more seriously. Races incorporated all current Lotus models with the Exige V6, Evora GT4, 2 Eleven and of course Elises & Exiges. Races moved to an endurance format and ran for up to 2 hours involving pit stops, driver changes and refuelling. The championship proved so popular it was granted two separate championships, one for SuperSport and one for Production cars.

In 2013 after a number of years of LoTRDC members competing in entry level motorsport via sprinting the club formed the Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship. Sprinting is a high-speed discipline in which drivers take turns to set a time around a lap of a race circuit or a set course, with the fastest times determining the results. Cars start singly and are timed by electronic equipment accurate to 100th of a second. Sprints are typically held on racing circuits and disused airfields, with venues spread right across the country. LoTRDC continues to run the championship today, bringing Lotus owners into motorsport for the first time.

Lotus Cup Europe was granted FIA International Series status in 2014, with safety and technical regulations governed by the FIA. In addition to enjoying similar status to prestigious series such as DTM & GT World Challenge. With this change and the addition work that was created to run an FIA authorised championship the LoTRDC team of volunteers decided they could no longer run Lotus Cup UK & Elise Trophy so with full grids in both championships and at their height of popularity the two UK championships had new commercial ownership from 2015.

The race series is designed to offer Lotus owners the opportunity to experience some of the best race circuits in Europe with like-minded enthusiasts. The Lotus Cup Europe calendar features the continent’s finest circuits, with three of 2022’s rounds supporting the prestigious DTM championship at Imola, Nürburgring & Spa Francorchamps. The season commences at Paul Ricard as part of the Grand Prix Camions. It then moves on to Germany and the Hockenheim Historic – Jim Clark Revival. Between DTM rounds there is a 50 minute race and second visit to Spa while the championship concludes at the 24 Heures Camions event at Le Mans in front of 60,000 spectators.

Lydd International Kart Club

About Us

Lydd International Kart Club started in 2011 when the circuit was purchased in a very much derelict condition.
I James Clark the owner have since reinvested every penny back into the circuit to produce a new circuit, workshop and improving infrastructure. The circuit is currently building a two storey state of the ark club house & race control.
We built the kart club up under IKR to about 80 members but in recent times this has declined because of sharing it with another circuit.
Lydd has now gone back to being totally in-dependant as a club & circuit to rebuild itself under Motorsport UK to grow again; we already have members which we will build on to back where we were - and grow.
We are currently upgrading our competitor management system to that provided by TrakEntries and are now using the latest Orbits 5 timing system.
