Charlotte Tilbury to empower next generation through the Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy

Friday 07 March 2025

Charlotte Tilbury, the award-winning global luxury makeup, skincare and fragrance brand, Motorsport UK and TeamSport Karting are delighted to announce a groundbreaking initiative to empower the next generation of young female motorsport competitors.

Through the recently launched Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy, a programme that provides 8-12-year-old girls with the opportunity to learn and progress through Motorsport UK’s talent pathway, Charlotte Tilbury will provide free funded karting sessions at TeamSport Karting venues and launch the Charlotte Tilbury Scholarship.

The announcement was made as part of Charlotte Tilbury’s commitment and partnership with F1 ACADEMY, aligning with their mission to support female drivers in progressing to the highest levels of motorsport competition.

To celebrate the partnership, 100% of sales of Charlotte’s award-winning Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray 100ml made on International Women’s Day (8 March 2025) will help fund free karting sessions through Motorsport UK’s Girls Karting Academy, enabling them to experience racing and discover the next generation of formidable female drivers.

The Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy Taster Sessions funded by Charlotte Tilbury will be at ten TeamSport venues in April, including Bristol, Cambuslang, Coventry, Crawley, Leeds, Manchester Trafford, Mitcham, Newcastle, Nottingham and Southampton.

Bookings are now being taken via TeamSport at: https://www.team-sport.co.uk/race-academy/motorsport-uk-girls-charlotte-tilbury

Through the Girls Karting Academy, the beauty brand will also fund a new initiative, the Charlotte Tilbury Scholarship, which will cover the cost of entry to a full Club100 Karting Championship season in 2026 plus additional testing and coaching through the Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy. These initiatives will identify future talent by breaking down the barriers to entry – and ultimately boost female participation in national and international karting championships.

Hugh Chambers, Motorsport UK CEO, commented, “Our initiative with Charlotte Tilbury is groundbreaking and opens the pathway for more young girls to enjoy the sport at TeamSport Karting venues around the UK.

“The Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy is aligned to Charlotte’s mission to unlock confidence in everyone, and the programme will enable young girls to discover their potential and enjoyment of the sport.

“Our thanks to the team at F1 ACADEMY for supporting this initiative and to Charlotte Tilbury and her team, for sharing our vision in inspiring the next generation to compete and explore opportunities in motorsport to take them to the F1 ACADEMY and beyond.”

Charlotte Tilbury MBE, President, Chairman, Chief Creative Officer, & Founder of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty said, “Darlings I know how important karting can be as a first step in inspiring young fearless girls who want to get into racing! I wanted to expand upon our purpose to empower the next generation of pioneering female drivers with the confidence to race towards their dreams and makeup their destiny by supporting the karting community.

“As we launch our second season as the first female founded and first beauty brand to sponsor the F1 Academy I want to continue my mission to empower everyone everywhere to unlock the power of confidence. On International Women’s Day sales of my award winning setting spray will go to funding free karting sessions for young girls through Motorsport UK’s Girls Karting Academy so that they can experience the magic of racing, and help discover the next generation of formidable female drivers.”

Dominic Gaynor, CEO of TeamSport, said, “At TeamSport, we’re passionate about making motorsport more accessible and creating an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone feels welcome.

“Working with Motorsport UK and Charlotte Tilbury on the Motorsport UK Girls Karting Academy is a vital step in inspiring more girls to get behind the wheel. The impact speaks for itself – we’ve seen a 93% increase in female participation in the final stages of the British Indoor Karting Championships in 2024 compared to 2023. These sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for girls to build confidence, develop new skills, and take their first steps into an exhilarating sport.”
