BIKC 2024 Finals take place this weekend

Thursday 07 November 2024

Following three months of qualifying, the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC) will hold its National Finals from 9-10 November at TeamSport Karting in Warrington this weekend.

Karters from around the country had the opportunity to set a qualifying lap at 35 TeamSport venues UK-wide from 1 June until 31 August, with the quickest invited to compete in the finale this weekend.

This year, finalists will take on the one-kilometre track using a standing start.

The F1 Academy Discover your Drive programme will have 19 drivers take part in the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC) Regional Finals this year, an increase of 850 percent on 2023, during which only three drivers set a qualifying lap time.

The four drivers competing are:

  • Freya Lally – Qualified 1st in Stockton in Cadet class.
  • Laila Fitzgerald – Qualified 2nd at Farnborough in Cadet class.
  • Megan Gascoygne – Qualified 3rd at Farnborough in Cadet class.
  • Iris Creese – Qualified 3rd at Gosport in Junior class.

Partnered with Motorsport UK since 2020, the BIKC will crown its 2024 champions in five different categories:

  • Cadet (8-11 years)
  • Junior (12-15 years)
  • Lightweight (16+ years, 74kg and under)
  • Middleweight (16+ years, 75kg and over)
  • Heavyweight (16+ years, 90kg+)

The Finals for the Cadet and Junior categories takes place on Saturday 9 November, with the remaining three categories competing on Sunday 10 November.
