Arrive and Drive focus at Autosport International 2025
Motorspor UK’s theme at the 2025 Autosport International Show is arrive-and-drive and promoting the low cost options available to competitors looking to get into or continuing enjoying the sport without owning a vehicle.
All vehicles on Motorsport UK’s stand, including a super-charged MINI Rally, Fun Cup, HERO-ERA 1961 MG A Coupe, Champions of the Future karts and a Suzuki Swift Rallycross car, are all arrive-and-drive options.
Giles Groombridge, 750 Motor Club Managing Director, commented from the show, “We currently run around 25 different championships in the UK, of which we have several teams of preparers within each offering pure ‘arrive-and-drive’ services.
“We’ve seen a growth of demand for this in recent years, people don’t necessarily have the space to store trailers and tow vehicles, so it’s becoming increasingly popular. Whenever we get enquiries we are able to put people in touch with teams depending on the car that they are looking to race and their budget, from entry-level affordable options up to more premium services. We’ve got something for everyone.”
Dan Parker, Head of Karting, Motorsport UK, added, “Arrive and Drive Karting has revolutionised accessibility in motorsport, offering an incredible opportunity for people of all ages to experience karting in a safe, controlled, and affordable environment. By removing traditional barriers such as the need to own or maintain equipment and the time commitment required for owner driver formats, it has opened the door to thousands who might never have had the chance to try the sport.
“Since the launch of the karting pathway in 2020, Arrive and Drive Karting has been a cornerstone of this growth, supported by initiatives like the BIKC, Club 100, DRS, and the latest addition of FAT karting league . Today, with over 13,000 Motorsport UK licence holders participating in these events, it’s clear that Arrive and Drive Karting is driving the future of grassroots motorsport and inspiring the next generation of kart drivers.”
On Friday afternoon, Motorsport UK launched a new global concept for drivers to showcase their talent using supplied equipment in conjunction with RGMMC, a global promoter of karting events: The 2026 Motorsport UK British Champions of the Future Academy Programme.
This innovation not only opens doors for aspiring drivers but also expands karting to those who may not own their own equipment, making the sport more accessible to drivers and families.
There are thousands of events each year across an array of different disciplines, offering something for every budget and background. Keen to get involved? Find out more on our Get Started website.
