Register now: Final Coaching Motorsport (Level 2) course for 2023

Motorsport UK is inviting candidates to register for the final Certificate in Coaching Motorsport (1st4sport, Level 2) course for 2023.

Five cohorts have passed through the course in 2023 following its launch in January with 87 coaches receiving the qualification.

This course is open to anyone supporting and developing a driver at any stage of their career from grassroots through to elite. Existing instructors and motorsport coaches wanting to develop their skills are invited to register, as well as those new to motorsport coaching.

The 13-week course will cost £595 and start on Wednesday 7 November and conclude with an assessment on 25 January 2024. Two in-person workshops and six webinars make up the course supported by online learning and resources.

Certificate in Coaching Motorsport

The Certificate in Coaching Motorsport (1st4sport, Level 2) is the second step on the coaching ladder following the Accelerator Award – an entry level online coaching course. The Certificate in Coaching Motorsport is a formal coaching qualification that has been broadened to extend to other sectors within coaching.

The broad syllabus provides candidates with insight on driving skills, coaching theory, effective development, coaching tools, sports science and compliance.

Designed in collaboration with UK Coaching and 1st4sport Qualifications, the 13-week course includes workshops, videos, webinars, practical coaching as well as tasks and a final assessment.

Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a coaching licence that includes Motorsport UK Member Benefits, as well as opportunities for Continuous Professional and facilitated learning via the Coaching Hub, workshops, conferences.
